Libya
In terms of geography, topographic names often refer to an ethnic name derived from the name. In this respect, the Egyptian sources are what provide us with the name of Libya in history. When the ancient Egyptian sources talk about the peoples of the sea, they mention several times a Libyan tribe called “Rbw” Rebu, and if we take the authority of the poet in antiquity in mind, Homer – being the essential source throughout antiquity – he mentioned Libya while talking about the story of Menelaus in the Odyssey. as for the Greeks in general, for them Libya is the place where “Apollo ordered people to live forever and respect the rules of purity, chastity, and worship.” In this context, Libya is the place where the Greeks lived after their arrival and founded Cyrene, and It is noted that the name Libya appeared in this period as the name of the lady of the country, along with Apollo, Cyrene, and Battus, and they ruled the land located from the Nile Delta to the Gulf of Sirte. In terms of mythology, Libya is the name of a hot wind that blows over Greece from the southwest and is called Libya. But the most important myth is the one that depicts Libya as a deified woman who ruled Libya before the arrival of the Greeks. This lady was embodied in Greek statues that have no relation to Libyan identity in terms of appearance. The content of this painting is to re-embody this myth in a way that is linked to Libyan identity.
